The nearest station, Hatfield Peverel, is about 5 miles away, so most guests arrive by car. Rural venues need a caterer who brings everything, and we arrive with our own gas, water containers and lighting.
About two thirds homes in Maldon (65%) are detached or semi-detached, so most hosts have a garden or driveway to work with. Gardens here suit a garden party with a cooking station on the patio and food served straight from the wok.
Hosting a party in Maldon
Parties in and around Maldon usually happen at village halls, marquees on farmland and family gardens, and we adapt the set-up to the space.
We need a flat space about the size of a parking bay for the cooking station, or we cook nearby and bring the food in hot.
December is our busiest month, so Christmas parties in Maldon are best booked in October or November.
The drive from our kitchen is about 11 miles via the A414, B1018 and B1010, roughly 25 minutes, and travel is always included in your quote rather than added on later. For guests coming by train: Maldon has no station; Burnham-on-Crouch and Southminster are on the Crouch Valley line.
