What to know about Christmas party catering in Tollesbury
The nearest station, Southminster, is about 7 miles away, so most guests arrive by car. Rural venues need a caterer who brings everything, and we arrive with our own gas, water containers and lighting.
Tollesbury has plenty of character, with 30% of its homes built before 1919. Older places usually have a church hall, a village hall or a historic pub that makes a characterful venue, and we check the rules on cooking and power in advance.
About two thirds homes in Tollesbury (74%) are detached or semi-detached, so most hosts have a garden or driveway to work with. Gardens here suit a garden party with a cooking station on the patio and food served straight from the wok.
Hosting a party in Tollesbury
Parties in and around Tollesbury usually happen at village halls, marquees on farmland and family gardens, and we adapt the set-up to the space.
We need a flat space about the size of a parking bay for the cooking station, or we cook nearby and bring the food in hot.
December is our busiest month, so Christmas parties in Tollesbury are best booked in October or November.
The drive from our kitchen is about 20 miles via the A414, B1018 and B1010, roughly 45 minutes, and travel is always included in your quote rather than added on later. For guests coming by train: Maldon has no station; Burnham-on-Crouch and Southminster are on the Crouch Valley line.
